Book a ticket
The Hôtel de la Marine is open every day from 10.30 am to 7 pm, and until 9.30 pm on Fridays.
Less busy times: Wednesdays and every day from 4.30 pm.
People with disabilities are entitled to priority access and free entry in the following cases:
- Holders of a validMobilité Inclusion Card marked ‘priority’ or ‘disability ’: free entry is also granted to their carer.
- Holders of an Adult Disability Certificate issued within the last 6 months: free entry is not granted to the accompanying person.
The ‘parking’ version of the Mobility Inclusion Card does not entitle the holder to free travel.
Recognition of Disabled Worker Status (RQTH) does not entitle the holder to free travel.
Online booking is recommended. An accessible ticket counter is available at the ticket office for all visitors

Transport and access
By metro
Concorde station: lines 1, 8 and 12. Exit 6 ‘Hôtel de la Marine’ or Exit 3 ‘Rue Saint Florentin’, 100 metres from the monument’s entrance. Not accessible to people with reduced mobility.
Madeleine station: line 14. Exit 1 ‘Madeleine’, 400 metres from the monument’s entrance. Accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Concorde-Royale station: lines 42, 45, 84 and 94, 90 metres from the monument’s entrance.
Concorde station: lines 42, 45, 72 and 73, 130 metres from the monument’s entrance.
By bike
Vélib’ Cambon-Rivoli/Madeleine station. A cycle park is available at 1 Rue Saint-Florentin.
The Cambon-Rivoli Vélib’ station is 220 metres from the monument’s entrance.
By train
All Parisian railway stations.
By car
The monument does not have a car park or a drop-off point.
As a last resort, it is possible to drop off people with reduced mobility in front of the monument’s entrance at 2 Place de la Concorde.

Access to the monument
The entrance to the monument is at 2 Place de la Concorde.
To reach the reception and ticket office at the Hôtel de la Marine, you must:
- Walk through the first archway to enter an open courtyard.
- Turn right under a second archway, topped by a clock, which leads into a covered courtyard. Pull one of the two glass doors to enter. If it is too heavy, you can ask one of the staff members in the open courtyard for help.
- A receptionist will be behind the desk opposite the entrance to welcome you and show you where to go. Please do not hesitate to let them know if you need anything.
- The ticket office is on the left-hand side of the courtyard. The ticket counter for people with disabilities is at the far left of the ticket office.
Access to the visitor routes
A lift is available for visitors with reduced mobility. Please ask a member of staff for assistance.
The layout of the rooms in the stewards’ apartments (included in the permanent tour) means that wheelchairs wider than 65 cm cannot pass through.
The last two rooms in the stewards’ apartments are not accessible to such wheelchairs. To explore them virtually, please visit our web app, which is free and requires no download.
Our 65cm-wide loan wheelchairs allow you to explore the entire exhibition.
Please note
- The cobbled floors of the courtyards may make it difficult to manoeuvre a wheelchair.
- The permanent exhibition (the stewards’ apartments) simulates candlelit conditions. The low light levels in this area and during evening openings may cause distress to some visitors with visual impairments or with mental, cognitive or psychological disabilities.
- The permanent exhibition (the stewards’ apartments) features ambient scents which may cause distress to some visitors with a mental, cognitive or psychological disability.
- The Confident, an immersive audio guide headset, features ambient sounds that may cause distress to some visitors with a mental, cognitive or psychological disability.
- The low lighting levels in the galleries of the Al Thani Collection may cause discomfort to some visitors with visual impairments or mental, cognitive or psychological conditions.
Facilities for your comfort
- Three wheelchairs and 20 folding chairs (Stockholm model) are available on request at the ticket office.
- A loop system is installed at the ticket office and in the shop for people with hearing impairments.
- Adjustable volume on headphones and audio guides for your comfort.
- The ticket office and shop have a counter lowered to 80 cm.
- Accessible toilets with a straight transfer in the men’s block and a left-hand transfer in the women’s block. Access ramp available.
- A cloakroom is available at reception for storing your personal belongings. The depositor is responsible for any valuables left in the cloakroom. Items larger than 40 x 40 x 40 cm are not permitted within the monument grounds. An access ramp is available.
Visitor aids
- Relief and Braille maps of the route for blind or visually impaired visitors.
- Two web applications available during the visit on tablets loaned at the ticket office:
- One provides explanatory texts on the artworks and objects on display.
- The other provides content in French Sign Language (LSF) and International Sign Language (LSI).
- Confident headphones with audio description available for visitors who are blind or partially sighted.
- An ‘Easy to Read and Understand’ (FALC) booklet, a visitor guide and a public accessibility register in French, are available below.
Group offers
The Hôtel de la Marine welcomes groups by booking only.
To help you plan your visit as effectively as possible, please familiarise yourself with our range of tours and practical information, then send us your booking request (at least one and a half months before your preferred date).
