OPENING TIMES AND ACCESS
The Hôtel de la Marine is open to visitors every day from 10.30 am to 7 pm, and until 9.30 pm on Fridays.
The ticket office closes 45 minutes before the end of visiting hours.
Slots on Tuesday afternoons, Thursday mornings and on the first and third Fridays of the month in the evening are reserved primarily for group visits.
The main courtyard, the bookshop and gift shop, the Mimosa restaurant and Café Lapérouse have their own opening hours, which can be found here.
The Hôtel de la Marine is open all year round, except on 1 January, 1 May and 25 December.
Occasional events may mean we have to close the monument.
We advise you to check the opening hours before your visit on our practical information page.
There are numerous public transport links near the Hôtel de la Marine:
By metro: lines 1, 8 and 12 to Concorde station.
By bus: routes 42, 45, 84 and 94, Concorde-Royale stop; routes 52, 72 and 73, Concorde stop.
By bike: the Velib’ Cambon-Rivoli station on Rue Cambon.
No, the building does not have a car park.
A public underground car park is located at 3608 Place de la Concorde, 75008 Paris.
A drop-off point for people with reduced mobility is available in front of the monument at 2 Place de la Concorde.
Access to the monument is on the day itself, without a booking, on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to availability.
Admission is free on the first Sunday of the month from November to March.
This applies to all our tours: the permanent tour, the express tour and the temporary exhibition of the Al Thani Collection (depending on the exhibition periods)
There are no guided tours on these days.
TICKETING
Go to the online ticket office
- Select ‘Self-guided tour’.
- Choose your tour route: the permanent exhibition, the express tour or the temporary exhibition from the Al Thani Collection.
- Select the ticket price and the number of tickets you require.
- Choose your visit date and time slot.
- Choose the language and audio theme you’d like for each ticket. This will be integrated into your immersive audio headset, the Confident, which will guide you throughout your visit.
- Confirm your order.
- Enter your details and proceed to payment.
- Your tickets will be sent to your email address (please check your spam folder).
On the day of your visit, please go to the ticket office at your chosen time to collect your Confident.
The ‘Al Thani Collection temporary exhibition’ and ‘express tour’ routes are only available during certain periods:
- The ‘Al Thani Collection temporary exhibition’ tour is only available whilst the Al Thani Collection exhibition is open.
- The ‘Express Tour’ is only available when the Al Thani Collection exhibition is closed.

Yes, we recommend buying your ticket online to guarantee entry to the monument.

No, the admission ticket is for single use only and once you leave the building, you cannot re-enter.

It gives you unlimited access to over 80 monuments throughout France.
It is available as a SOLO pass (for 1 person) and a DUO pass (for the subscriber and 1 guest).

Passion Monuments cardholders enjoy free access to all the tours at the Hôtel de la Marine.
We recommend that you book your visit slot online, selecting the ‘Passion Monuments Subscriber’ rate.
Please note that you will be asked to show your valid Passion Monuments card at the entrance.
The gift voucher must be exchanged online or on site for a time-stamped ticket.

Enter your gift voucher code, then choose your tour route and your visit slot.
The gift voucher is valid for one year from the date of purchase.
You can access your chosen tour without booking a time slot via our online ticketing system.

On the day of your visit, you will need to go to the ticket office to collect your immersive audio headset, the Confident, which will guide you throughout your visit.

Yes, we provide 40x40x20cm combination lockers.
Due to the Vigipirate security measures, bags and suitcases are not permitted on the tour route.
Please leave any items exceeding these dimensions in an external left-luggage facility.
Yes, free toilets are available at the start and end of the tour route.
There are no other toilets along the tour route.
A baby changing facility is also available.
Yes, we provide free public Wi-Fi throughout the monument.

No, pets are not permitted within the monument grounds, with the exception of guide and assistance dogs, in accordance with the law.
No, picnicking is not permitted within the building grounds.
For your information, the Tuileries Garden is a 5-minute walk from the Hôtel de la Marine.
In the Cour d’Honneur (outer courtyard), you will find the Mimosa restaurant and the Café Lapérouse.

No, the bookshop and gift shop, the Mimosa restaurant and Café Lapérouse are accessible via the Cour d’Honneur (outer courtyard) without purchasing an admission ticket.
The bookshop and gift shop is open every day from 11.00 to 19.15, and until 21.45 on Fridays.
No, pushchairs are not permitted on the tour route.
A storage area is available where you can leave your pushchair.
A baby carrier can be borrowed on request at the reception desk.
To ensure the safety and comfort of all visitors, the following items are prohibited on the site:
- Weapons and ammunition of any kind;
- Dangerous, foul-smelling, excessively heavy or bulky objects;
- Explosive, flammable or volatile substances;
- Illegal substances;
- Any sharp or blunt objects;
- Any glass objects;
- Scooters and bicycles.
Security staff will ask you to open your bags before entering each tour route.
They may refuse entry to items that do not appear to comply with our health and safety policy.

THE TOUR
All self-guided tours of the Hôtel de la Marine are conducted using an immersive audio headset, the Confident, which will guide you throughout your visit.
It is available in nine languages: French, English, Spanish, Italian, German, Chinese, Japanese, Russian and Arabic.
Three tour routes are available at the Hôtel de la Marine:
1. The permanent tour – duration: 1 hour 15 minutes
This includes the stewards’ apartments, the state rooms and the loggia.
The three audio guides to choose from are:
- ‘Journey Through Time’
Take a journey through the Hôtel de la Marine’s 250-year history.
Tour available in French, English, Spanish, Italian, German, Russian, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and with audio description.
- ‘The Age of Enlightenment’
To immerse yourself in life at the Hôtel de la Marine in the 18th century.
Tour available in French and English.
- “For Families”
For a fun family tour of the Hôtel de la Marine.
Tours available in French, English, Spanish, Italian, German and Russian.
Available on request only at the ticket office.
A activity booklet for children complements the tour.
2. The temporary exhibition of the Al Thani Collection – duration: 1 hour 15 minutes
This includes the temporary exhibition of the Al Thani Collection, the state rooms and the loggia.
Tours available in French, English and Spanish.
The ‘Al Thani Collection’ tour is only available during the Al Thani Collection’s exhibition periods.

3. The Express Tour – duration: 30 minutes
This tour covers only the state rooms and the loggia
Tours are available in French, English, Spanish, Italian, German, Russian, Arabic, Chinese and Japanese.
The ‘Express Tour’ is only available when the Al Thani Collection exhibition is closed.
All self-guided tours of the Hôtel de la Marine are conducted using an immersive audio headset, the Confident, which guides you throughout the tour.

- Tours accompanied by the Confident, an immersive audio guide suitable for children aged 7 and over, along with a tour booklet to complete.
- Guided tours.
- Workshop tours.

A tour of the permanent exhibition or the temporary exhibition of the Al Thani Collection lasts 1 hour 15 minutes.
The ‘express tour’ takes 30 minutes.
ACCESSIBILITY
Yes, entry to the monument is free for people with disabilities in the following cases:
- Holders of a valid Mobility Inclusion Card marked ‘priority’ or ‘disability’.
Free entry is also granted to a accompanying person.
- Holders of an Adult Disability Certificate issued within the last 6 months
Free entry is not granted to the accompanying person.
The ‘parking’ version of the Mobility Inclusion Card and the Recognition of Status as a Disabled Worker (RQTH) do not entitle the holder to free admission.
There is an accessible ticket office on site.

Yes, it is possible to come without a booking and buy your ticket directly at the ticket office, subject to availability.
For a more comfortable visit, we recommend visiting the Hôtel de la Marine:
- Monday to Sunday from 4.30 pm.
- All day on Wednesdays.
Yes, the monument is wheelchair accessible via a lift.
The layout of the rooms in the stewards’ apartments (included in the permanent tour) prevents wheelchairs wider than 65 cm from passing through.
The last two rooms in the stewards’ apartments are not accessible to such wheelchairs.

Our 65 cm wide wheelchairs, available on request at the ticket office, allow you to visit the entire tour.
The ‘Al Thani Collection temporary exhibition’ and ‘express tour’ routes are fully wheelchair accessible.
Yes, guide dogs and assistance dogs are permitted inside the monument, in accordance with the law.
CULTURAL PROGRAMME
In the main courtyard (outer courtyard), the participatory dance sessions are open to all and free of charge, with no booking required.
In the state rooms, only visitors with a ticket booked via our online ticketing system may attend the dance demonstrations.
All available time slots are listed on our online booking system.
The balls run continuously from 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm; you may arrive at any time.
Please bear the following in mind before you visit:
- It is not possible to take part in the demonstrations in the ballrooms.
- The museum does not lend out costumes and does not have changing facilities.
- Costumes are not permitted on the guided tours.
- You do not need to wear a costume to take part in the dancing in the main courtyard.
- Balls are cancelled in the event of bad weather.

We do not operate a waiting list for fully booked events.
No additional places will be allocated on the day of the event.
The guided tour with commentary is led by a tour guide and lasts 1 hour 15 minutes.
A guided tour is led by a member of the site’s staff and lasts 45 minutes.
The combined packages, in partnership with Le Cordon Bleu cookery school, consist of:
- A cookery or pastry-making workshop led by a chef from Le Cordon Bleu.
- A tour of the permanent exhibition at the Hôtel de la Marine.
