presentation
In connection with the exhibition A Taste for the Renaissance: a dialogue between collections, the Hôtel de la Marine welcomes the Sorbonne Scholars for an evening.
Focusing on themes such as spring, love, war and praise, this concert will present major works from the Renaissance, from 4 to 40 voices in the form of dialogues: between the voices of counterpoint, between the choirs of the cori spezzati, between secular and sacred music, between voices and instruments, but also between styles of writing and musicians from Italy, England and France. The programme will conclude with the exceptional Spem in alium for forty voices by Thomas Tallis.
The exhibition is organised by the Al Thani Collection Foundation and the Centre des monuments nationaux in collaboration with the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
